This is a Public Service Announcement:

Purdue Students can no longer use their current Purdue issued ID as valid photo identification when trying to vote at the polls.

On July 26th, the Tippecanoe County Election Board confirmed this update to their policy over fears of being out of compliance with Indiana Law.

In order to vote in the upcoming 2019 Municipal Election, Purdue Student’s must have a current photo ID issued by the State of Indiana (including an updated ID from Purdue) or the United States.

According to the Purdue Press Release, a student can purchase a new, valid-to-vote ID, that includes a printed expiration date, from the University for $10.

A student can also obtain a free Indiana State ID (through the BMV), but must surrender any out of State Driver’s License they may have.
